MOLY 880
CROWN & CHASSIS® GREASE
  • EXCELLENT EXTREME PRESSURE QUALITIES
  • DRY FILM LUBRICATION
  • ADHESIVE AND COHESIVE
  • WATER RESISTANT
  • VERSATILE
  • LOWERS GREASE CONSUMPTION

Caterpillar and other heavy equipment manufacturers indicate repair cost can be reduced 50% by using 5% molybdenum disulfide in excellent greases like MOLY 880 CROWN & CHASSIS® .
By combining our most popular grease, 880 CROWN & CHASSIS®, with an exceptional dry film lubricant, Texas Refinery Corp. has once again developed a grease designed to meet the special applications needed for today's equipment. Innovative lab and field research has shown MOLY 880 CROWN & CHASSIS® to be one of the most advanced multi-purpose lubricants available.

Excellent Extreme Pressure Qualities

With a Timken OK Load Rating of 80 pounds minimum, MOLY 880 CROWN & CHASSIS®meets extreme pressure lubrication needs. Originally developed for the crown block of drilling rigs, its extreme pressure qualities allow it to be used on such difficult lubrication areas as fifth wheels and ball joints, which are constantly under a heavy load. It excels in these critical lubrication applications.

Contains a Dry Film Lubricant

In a few special applications, pressures become extreme enough to force any petroleum lubricant from between contact areas. With its 5% added Molybdenum Disulfide (Moly), MOLY 880 CROWN & CHASSIS® still provides protection against metal-to-metal contact. Molybdenum disulfide, when plated out on the metal surfaces, can withstand up to 500,000 psi. Moly forms a very thin film on the metal surfaces and helps reduce wear and friction, thereby reducing heat build-up which helps to reduce scuffing, galling, and roughening of metal surfaces.

Adhesive and Cohesive

Specially formulated to "stay put," it provides outstanding protection against metal-to-metal contact. Its adhesive qualities allow it to cling to metal, not only providing excellent lubrication, but also sealing out dust and moisture. MOLY 880 CROWN & CHASSIS®combats rust and corrosion.

The cohesive qualities help it to resist pulling apart. Its special "tackiness" additives give it virtually unequaled ability to avoid slinging off moving or spinning surfaces.

Water Resistant

Special adhesive and cohesive qualities help resist washing off even when used for marine-related applications. Highly water resistant, making it excellent for use in trenching operations as well as construction where water and moisture are encountered. Clings to metal surfaces, sealing out moisture which helps avoid rusting, corrosion, and seizing.

Versatile

Ideal for any application requiring a standard grease or an extreme pressure lubricant. It's excellent for use on bearings, sealed or open, high or low speed. Very effective when used as a chassis lubricant, for ball joints, fifth wheels, and universal joints. Crane bearing pins, cam and slide mechanisms, and open gears can all benefit from the use of this grease.

Excellent for use on surfaces that turn, slide or have an oscillating motion, MOLY 880 CROWN & CHASSIS® may safely be used for most applications . . . unless a non-melting grease is required for operating in temperatures of more than 275° F.

Lowers Grease Consumption

Special qualities of "staying put" under extreme pressure, and resisting slinging or washing off with water, make it a very economical multi-purpose grease. In addition to providing exceptional protection, extended relubrication intervals can be expected . . . and its versatility will greatly reduce inventories of different types of grease.
