Increases Cold-Weather Operability When cold weather hits, diesel fuel is directly affected. The paraffin wax present in the fuel begins to separate and crystallize. The temperature at which this cloudiness begins is the fuel's CLOUD POINT. When the temperature of the fuel is low enough, it reaches its POUR POINT, or the lowest temperature, the fuel is still sufficiently fluid to be pumped or transferred. Lowers the pour point allowing the fuel to flow freely in cold temperatures . . . even when untreated fuels have "lost the battle of the waxes." Retards Wax Formation By modifying the size and shape of the wax crystals, DIESEL FUEL POUR DEPRESSANT keeps them from combining with one another to form a gel. The fuel is allowed to flow freely through lines, filters, screens, and pumps without clogging. Will slow wax formation even in fuel meeting minimum specifications, now supplied by many refineries. This fuel can then be used at much lower temperatures than would normally be expected. Reduces Downtime When considering all the facts, downtime can be quite expensive. Not only is a particular piece of equipment not working, but neither is the operator for that equipment. In addition, repair costs are growing daily, not to mention other equipment and crews that are waiting for the inoperative piece of equipment to be fixed. Obviously, a lot of expense can be incurred by a single piece of equipment not functioning properly. Because this productkeeps fuel flowing freely at lower temperatures than usual, much of the normal downtime due to cold weather can be avoided. Therefore, increased production (and profits) can be expected by keeping that piece of equipment doing its job. Easy To Use Simply add to diesel fuel. For best results, it should be added to the storage tank before adding the fuel. As the fuel is added, it will mix with the fuel. This same method can be used for adding to fuel tanks. One very important note: DIESEL FUEL POUR DEPRESSANT must be added to diesel fuel BEFORE the fuel has reached its cloud point . . . in other words, the fuel must be free of wax crystals at the time it is treated for effective performance. Mixes Readily Specially formulated for all types of diesel fuels. It provides added convenience in mixing and there are no special techniques nor tools needed for mixing the product. Excellent Treat Ratio When treated at a recommended rate of one gallon to 1,000 gallons of fuel, a 20°F. drop in pour point can be expected on a fuel that has not been previously treated. If this 1,000 gallons is treated with another gallon of DIESEL FUEL POUR DEPRESSANT, the pour point can be lowered up to an additional 8 - 10°F. Subsequent treatments will lower the pour point less, which illustrates the fact that wax crystals can only be modified a certain amount, regardless of the type of treatment. Mixing Ratios
