DESCRIPTION:

CR-140 is a two-phase liquid. The lower layer consists of a combination of chlorinated solvents, phenolic compounds, other selected solvents, emulsifiers, and wetting agents. The top layer is an alkaline solution containing a special corrosion inhibitor. CR-140 has a pH of approximately 11.2.


PURPOSE:

CR-140 is formulated for use as a cold soak vat cleaner for removal of LIGHT carbon deposits, shellac, oil, grease, and paint from ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It is used as it comes from the drum without dilution. The alkaline seal incorporated in CR-140 eliminates excessive evaporation of valuable solvents and keeps the cleaning solution working longer.


DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

Pour the required amount of CR-140 solution from the container into the cold vat. It is essential that the solution be agitated before removing it from the container. In the case of a 6-gallon container, this is easily accomplished by rolling the pail in a circular motion for a few minutes. In the case of a 55-gallon drum, it is suggested that the drum be placed on its side and rolled in a circular motion for a few minutes. After removing CR-140 from the container, allow it to set for a few minutes until the alkaline seal separates from the working solution. Then, immerse parts in a cold solution of CR-140 until they are clean. FOLLOWING THIS, THOROUGHLY RINSE THE PARTS WITH SOLVENT OR WATER BEFORE HANDLING.


ADVANTAGES:

1. Contains built-in alkaline seal to prevent excessive evaporation of valuable solvents.
2. Readily attacks oil and grease soils, common dirt, shellacs, varnishes, paint films and light carbon.
3. May be used on all metals as encountered in chemical cleaning even plated parts.
4. Alkaline seal contains special corrosion inhibitor to prevent attack on conventional metals encountered in chemical cleaning.
5. Free rinsing with water or solvent.

HARMFUL OR FATAL IF SWALLOWED.
Contains petroleum distillates, phenolic compounds and methylene chloride. Avoid breathing vapor. Use with adequate ventilation. Keep off skin and clothing. Use with skin protection (gloves, etc.) and safety glasses with side shields or goggles.

DO NOT SWALLOW. May be harmful for people with heart conditions. IF SWALLOWED DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION IMMEDIATELY!

EYE CONTACT: Flush with plenty of cool water for 15 minutes and SEEK IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION.

SKIN AND CLOTHING CONTACT: Immediately flush off skin with water, wash with mild soap and water. If irritation persists, see a doctor. Launder contaminated clothing before reusing.
